Amy Bowers is a native Floridian living in New Haven, Connecticut. Her homeschooled children had many Little House days, replacing grasslands for oak scrubs and maple sugaring with sugar cane pressing. Her academic background is American Studies and visual culture. Her writing and teaching explore domestic and natural spaces, as well as cultural representation. She teaches in the Connecticut State University system and dreams of traveling west to visit the American prairie.
