I liked seeing her bond with Miss Beadle and having a friendlier side that fully developed once Percival dumped a bowl of eggs on her head and she fell in love with him!

We were lucky and blessed to have this show. 50 yrs strong. The Festival in Simi Valley was so fun. I was shocked by how many people love the show. I thought it was just me. Lol

It’s one of the very few programs that tells how a family lives, struggles, pulls and loves each other in many different scenarios!! Michael Landon was a genius!! We watched another one of his shows, Highway to Heaven that had the same moral values that Little House did! I’m so happy that there are still reruns for future generations to watch (and learn)!

Nellie obviously wanted to prove Laura wrong walked right over. As she approached a crap came out scaring her and Nellie fell completely into the pond. Nellie spent the rest of the party wet in their dress from Paris.

This would be such a great item to receive. Unfortunately the tickets to see the ranch and take pictures with the actors were sold out by the time I came across the event. Although whoever wins will be one lucky person.

It was written many, many years ago when her daughter told her Mom about the Prairie books being published. It was a great read! Thanks Nelly for your story up in Heaven.

  177. Favorite Nellie moment is in Season 6 Episode 23 I think this episode really shows another fun side of Nellie and Percival. There is just something about this that makes me want to watch it because of the way he stands up to her, and then she starts loving him because of it. It’s very funny how he dumps the eggs on her and now she loves him because he said she was pretty. Nellie just met her soul mate that he recognizes her in that way.

  188. My favorite Nellie moment is probably the moment when she realizes she’s in love with Percival, as nasty gunk drips from the bowl on her head!

I also really love when Nellie meets Nancy and tries to understand the kid in a way that only she could!

There’s also a really fun Little House tie in novel, “Nellie Oleson Meets Laura Ingalls”, and readers get to see her perspective and that she has a lot more going on than we know about from the original books. It’s set in a universe that is more of a licensed fanfic for novel verse, and not the show, and delves into some really interesting stuff. Her parents, in that universe, are definitely not as much fun as Nels and Harriet, though!

  191. My favorite Nelly moment is when she first fell in love with Percival when he dumped the bowl over her head. You could just see in her eyes and her smile that she fell in love with him right then and there. That was the first genuine moment of love I think Nelly ever had.

  192. My favorite Nellie Olson moment was the first day she met Mary and Laura. She stared long and hard at them, kind of sneered, and said, “country girls” before flipping her head and walking away.

I also read the books to my mother , little did I know that she was taking nap when I was reading until I grew up. I also had the joy of rewatching the show with my daughter when she was growing up as well. I own the whole series and I am looking forward to now watching them with my granddaughter. Wow what a gift.

  221. Cannot have Little House on the Prairie without Nellie Olsen.
While she was very mean to Laura, Mary, and countless other characters, her growth into a nice lady became true when she met Purcevill.
We too as an audience grew to love her.
    Happy 50th Anniversary little House!

  225. What an amazing giveaway! Nellie was my favorite character to “hate” when I was a girl! My 9 year old has read the whole LHotP series, and watched many of the shows. She loves the episode in which Nellie pretends to be handicapped, and Laura gets fed up and pushes her wheelchair down the hill. I love passing on the love of LHotP to my children! We adopted a little girl from foster care and we will be reading the books to her as well!
